The next morning was Abu Simbel, the two temples built by Ramses II.
Ramses II
The Nubian Museum was interesting, especially as local people were VERY enthusiastic about being Nubian. "And this is Nubian and I am Nubian and this is Nubian and I am Nubian and this is Nubian and I am Nubian and..." you get the idea.
"It's okay, I'm a bit cracked in the head too."
I also went to an island temple where we had to take a bargain for a boat ride to get there.
Amazing, eh?
Ancient hyrogliphics
Aswan had a good souk (market). I got a galabya (Egyptian dress, pronounced gala-bay-uh) and a few other things for when we boarded the felucca. We found some really nice people there that we went back to because they were friendly and had fair prices.
Taito (spelling?) and his shop with his loyal customers
In my galabya ready for the feluccas!
